Custom CD and booklet for Au5’s album Divinorum and its remixes, made for an expressive typography project. Each song on the album was accompanied by a poem on release, and I wanted to make a little booklet of those that doubled as an album cover for the CD case. I also designed a CD jacket which included the tracklist, as well as repurposed the original cover art to use as disc art.
Most people in my class chose concrete stories to do, which made the expressive typography a lot more simple to manage. I was dealing with a very abstract narrative, so I didn’t want my designs to feel too literal. I ended having to do so anyway for a few lines, but I think I still managed to keep that ethereal quality the original text has.
The final product sits proudly in my CD collection.
