Cosmic Apocalypse is a four-movement, two-hour-long epic about the plight of humanity in the face of the inevitable. It originally began when I first heard about the sleepy.zone radio station, and wanted to do a DJ set there. Movement 1 was actually the very first set I ever began working on for the station, in December of 2022. The concept for it kept growing in scope, and I ended up having to postpone it for a while. Over the course of the next year, I continued chipping away at it until eventually, in September of 2023, all four movements were complete.
Eon, which you can find as the opening to Movement 3 of the set. In terms of visual art, it’s my favorite piece I’ve ever made. It’s an attempt to articulate this simultaneous dread and solace in the face of cosmic existentiality, which made it a natural fit for this mix. As with many of my school projects, it was a real struggle to stay within the project guidelines, as I had a very specific vision in mind, but I’m still proud of it.
